We are switching from a release 10 Prologix to an S8300
release 11
we had been using c-lan connection for BCMS Server and
ASA from a workstation using node-names ip , ip-int
ip-services ...data module (ethernet)

my question is :
since we do not have a c-lan or an ipsi card card in the s8300 from what I can tell you have to change the address of the s8300 to what the c-lan was using and then use communication processor interfaces along with node-names ip and so on is their a link or pdf that explains in detail as I am having no luck with the s8300 cd library or avaya.com
website

The (1)s8300 and (5) G700 have 2 open ethernet connections
marked as ext 1 , ext 2

Thank You for any and all posts

Hope i get the question right

but anytime you do processor channel things that needs a link # use "p" which meants it'll use the processor for the interface..

Hope that answers your question

You would use the IP address assigned to the S8300 itself for ASA port 5023, and the same for BCMS, the IP assign in the Configure Server Wizard is what is used in place of CLAN for your Prologix.

With the S8300 architechure the CLAN functionality is built into the S8300 server, so that is why it's IP address is used for all of these features. You will also notice that you don't set any links with the S8300. The 2 ports on G700 provide for failover network connectivity to your network switches.

Also in the solution, you will have an IP Address for the G700 (Cajun switch functionality), MGP (TCM-IP Bus interface on built into the G700) as well as the V0 VOIP DSP resource built into the G700. The only address used once the system is operating is the S8300's IP address as this is the IP address IP phones will register with (Callsvr IP), ASA & BCMS will communicate with.

Hope this helps

Thank you,
