Yes you can.
It would require using ftp. Enable ftp on the server, create a sub directory in the /var/home/ftp/pub folder, plug the usb device in, mount the device to the folder you created, schedule/run the backup (define the server as the ftp host, remember to use the folder in the directory string, and enter the change.
unfortunately I think this will require sroot.
