Hi.
i have an S8300/G450 cm5.1 for my lab and i have also those licenses.
Application Enablement Services
AE SVCS 4.0 RFA Software Enable
AE SVCS 4.0 Basic TSAPI RTU 1-5
AE SVCS 4.0 Advanced TSAPI RTU SML
CMAPI Basic License AES4 1-5
AES 4.2 Software Only Media
i want to start playing around with AES but i can not find any helpfully docs on avaya support about s8300 and AES..actually i don't know where to start from...can the AES co resident into s8300 just like SIP or do i need an extra server?.should i install the cd from CM's web maintenance page?
can you please advise me?
Any ideas would be appreciate....

AES needs its own server. You have the "software only" AES option. It will not run on the S8300.

can i test it somehow on a VMware machine or it is necessary to install it on separately physical server? ? i tried to boot a vmware linux red hat machine from the cd but nothing happened....has anyone done that before?

OK, I just installed on a vmware the Red Hat Enteprise Linux v.4.
I inserted the AES CD-ROM, i chosed to install the software and guide showed up...now i am stacked on one of this guides screens where it's says 'SELECT MULTIVANTAGE API SERVER BUILD'.
There is no option there and i can not do nothing more than cancel the installation.

Any ideas?

Hi
use a server in the physical sense if possible , VMware is not supported by Avaya. Check if the ISO image is not corrupt first of all

actually i found the answer here...
i had to go in /etc and vi the fstab to see the name of the cd rom device in order to give the right path on installation screen.
after that when i tried to start the installation i got an other error...so you may be right about the vmware...
i guest i'll have to look for an old pc to make my labs.
