S8300 as destination for IP Phone Backup

Has anyone ever set up an S8300 as a destination for IP Phone backups?

In small implementations we have used the 8300 as the DHCP ad HTTP server but would also like to be able to store the back ups if possible.

I was able to create a directory called /backup under the Linux root. I also set the BRURI settings in the 46xxsettings.txt file to "HTTP:// <s8300_ip_address>/backup". When I go to options in the endpoint and select backup, it fails. If I point it to the IP Address of my laptop with IIS running it works fine. I believe that it may be a user rights issue on the new folder wheras the folder needs to be able to allow the IP endpoint to access it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

you are going to have to become an "apache" expert, since that is the web server running in linux, on the S8300. It's far simpler to get this running with MV-IPTel, or IIS on an external box. The problem is, unless you know how to change the apache configuration, to allow anonymous writing to that directory, it won't be possible. It's also likely that even if you knew EXACTLY what needed to be changed, you won't have permission to modify the apache configuration files on the S8300, because AVAYA doesn't want Business Partners/Customers messing with it..

Good point. I now had some additional questions that I will have to investigate.

I will re-post if I come up with anything. I would think that HTTP is already open to the phones as they currently pull the firware from the 8300. I will have to try changing the BRURI path to the same location.
