s8300 and public NTP service

hi,

I need to use an external NTP server. does anybody have a public address for one?

I have found one but when i configure the time server settings on the 8300 it fails, (I have done a traceroute to the name from the 8300 and it resolves to the IP address so i have connectivity)and i have checked that port 123 is open on the 8300's firewall.

any ideas would be very much appreciated
