Hi Everyone,

I have a Samsung 80GB S-ATA drive. I used HD Tach to benchmark it and I got a result of 66.6.
In another same drive I got 120. The drive is new and the OS too. Nero also has a speed check and it says between 20000 to 30000. On the second drive I got 60000.
I have an option to connect the drive by raid, but a I have only one drive. If I don't use raid, is it slowing the drive?
My OS is 32bit.

Do you know other benchmark tools?

My hardware:
AMD 64 Athlon 3000+
MSI K8N Platinum nForce4
Samsung 80GB S-ATA 150
Windows XP Pro Service pack 2 32bit
MSI GeForce6 NX6600E

Thanks

66.6 what? MB per second? Average or peek?

If the benchmark is average your system is working actually quite fast for a single drive. If it is 66.6 in burst mode you are quite slow. Regards
