Hi,

I have trouble getting Visual Foxpro 5 to store data or print in Russian. The CPCONVERT does not seem to work and the modification of the CODEPAGE in Config.FPW does not affect the display in either Windows 98 or 2000 even if the table's codepage is in Russian.
I appreciate any help on this subject

Hi!

What exactly don't work?
VFP changes your cyryllic text?
You just cannot get it display as cyryllic (trash displaying)?
Can you see it as russian when you typing it in data from keyboard? [sig]<p>Vlad Grynchyshyn<br><a href=mailto:vgryn@softserve.lviv.ua>vgryn@softserve.lviv.ua</a><br><a href= Serve</a><br>The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs[/sig]

What happens is that Foxpro Changes Cyrillic characters to Trash displaying when I type in the keyboard or Paste a Cyrillic sentence from Office 2000.
I added Cyrillic in my Windows 2000 and I can select the ARIAL CYRILLIC fonts from within the fonts but Foxpro keeps on getting me those characters '??????????????????????'
I also created Russian Tables but I still can't store Cyrillic data in it.

You don't need to do this if your Windows configured to display Russian text by default. Usually this do not help, specially with UNICODE characters, because ARIAL CYRILLIC font is quite old, as far as I know. It was made or windows versions that have problems with codepages, now it is solved on more genera way, so this fond no longer needed (many people, however, still use it because its name, but it is mistake).
Are your other applications in Windows allow to type Cyryllic text, except Word? I meant, for example, Notepad, file names in russian etc.? In addition, some earlier installations of Windows 2000 have problems with cyryllic fonts when installed from scratch. To install cyryllic fonts properly, you need to reinstall Windows 2000 again to make them effect. I understand, this sound stupid, but when you install Windows 2000 with cyryllic settings from start, it don't works.
Finally, got ot control panel and check that you have following. &quot;Your system is configured to write documents in multiple languages&quot; in the General tab, and 'Cyryllic' is checked below it. Your locale is Russian. You are able to type and see cyryllic text when you try to rename file to cyryllic chars name and current font for display was not changed from default.
