Hi Guys,

Just wondering, if I create an app in Access 2003 and convert to runtime; what happens when I try to run the app on a PC that has Access 2000 installed on it?
(E.G. Does it work?) Also, will PivotTables work OK?

Ta,

Steve.

Hi

There is no conversion as such, the runtime version of Access is simply a "stripped down" version which does not allow user to create or design objects, it simply runs an application created in "full" access, (either mdb or mde). As far as I know, the only things which will not run are if you have used any "design" type commands (eg CreateObject etc) in your application

Thanks Ken,

I was just wondering before I purchased Visual Studio Tools that an Access 2003 app under runtime works on PC's that also has Access 2000 installed! :)

Cheers,

Steve

Just to confirm, we have several machines that have Access (97 to XP) and installing a database that on other machines require runtime causes no problems. But if the database is created in, for example, XP and the client only has 97, then they will require the runtime for XP to be installed.
