Runtime Error

When I try to open Word (part of Office XP), I am forced to open it in Safe Mode. I also get the following message when I open Outlook (it tries to open Word for it's email editor):

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error

Program: C:\Program Files\...\winword.exe

Uninstalling and reinstalling Office made no difference. Any help would be appreciated.

Just a thought, but try repairing office instead of uninstalling and reinstalling. To do this, go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and click on MS Office. You should see an option to either remove the software or repair it -- choose repair. You will probably need the CD handy when you do this, depending on which version of Office you are running.
