This is driving me up the wall and making me want to
format my computer and re-install again.

Here’s the background:

Win2K Pro SP3 IE 6.0 SP1, about 3-4 weeks ago.
I have been getting these errors when I click on
a javascript link that pops a new window, go to a
page where there’s a javascript window pop up, or
click on a link in the pop up windows and not
function:

Here’s a screenshot of this error:

Anyone out there have a clue what the heck this is?
Thanks

open internet explorer, click tools, internet options, click the advanced tab and check "disable script debugging".

Sorry for not being thorough... I have tried that but
there is a scripting error on the status/bottom left of
the browser window. This only happens with the affected
machine, not the other computer I have right next to me.

Thanks a bunch for the suggestion though

Pulled this off another site... I get this once in a while.

When opening a page within Internet Explorer a dialog box is displayed titled ‘Error’ displaying the message:

A Runtime Error has occurred.
Do you wish to Debug?

Line: NN
Error: Object expected

What the error means:
Internet Explorer is displaying this message because it has encountered this error when trying to run some Javascript on the page.

Possible Causes and Remedies:
The problem may be related not with the site but with the contents of Internet Explorer’s cache.
Internet Explorer may be using some old files from its cache instead of retrieving newer versions from the site. Try deleting all of Internet Explorers temporary files (Tools > Internet Options ... > Delete Files ) and then refresh the page view. If the error persists then it is a fault with the page.

The page contains a genuine Javascript error.
If the page is yours (i.e. one that your are developing or one for which you are the webmaster responsible) then its up to you to debug the problem. Otherwise ignore the error (select ‘No’ to debug) and see if you can carry on.

This error can be disabled:

Within Internet Explorer select ‘Tools’, ‘Internet Options’.
Select the ‘Advanced’ tab.
Make sure the "Display a notification about every script error" is NOT checked.

Other than that, hopefully someone else can suggest something else

Hmmm...couple of other possibilities if you've experienced no joy yet.
Go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, scroll down to Microsoft VM, check the box to enable Java Console, restart.

Also, check under Tools, Internet Options, Settings, View Objects, check the status of your Java Runtime Env. If damaged, reinstall latest version (
