When my application was running, it shown an runtime error "Illegal seek offset ". I have no idea what is an "offset". It is on Foxpro 2.5b for DOS. Can anybody tell?

This is almost always due to a bad Index file. If your application has a Recreate Indexes option, use it. If not, then you need to get someone with a development install of FoxPro (or an appropriate 3rd party tool) to recreate the bad index file(s). If these are not available options, I'd suggest you restore the data to your most recent backup and see if that corrects your problem.

Finally, there may be a programatic problem that is due to unsual circumstances, and the application may need to be fixed. Without more details (and the source code) it's really difficult to give a precise answer.
