runtime error 24608

I running a script which sometimes runs fine and sometimes errors out with "runtime error '24608' "This is not a valid operation at the moment, Impromptu is busy". Basically the script opens a cognos impromptu application, runs the reports, saves it as an excel spreadsheet quits impromptu and then mails the document using microsoft outlook. When I run the report on Windows 2000 it runs fine except for a security warning from Outlook which requires user input to allow mailing the document. On windows NT 4.0 It sometimes results in the runtime error.
HELP!!!

Can you trap that error, make your application wait a few seconds then go back and try to execute the offending operation again? It just sounds like you're trying to rush this Impromptu program.
