Runningsum using two values 1

I have a report

In the page Header I have a value text41 = Beginbal

In the detail section I have in the running sum source code

Quantity*Price + text41

Runsum over all

It doesn't include the value of the text41

When I run the report
and idea to fix this

I would place the beginbal text box in the report header section and name it appropriately. You can use one text box to build a running sum and a second text box to add the running sum text box with the txtBeginBal text box from the Report Header section.

I have tried this, textBox AliasbeginbalRep
control source beginbal
no running sum

Report header
In the detail section Textbox AliasBarunRep
Control source AliasbeginbalRep+Quantity*Price
the first record is ok
running sum overall
but then it keeps adding the value of the first record
last say the first info is 600
the second will 1200
the third 1800
and so on

when tried adding the running sum to the aliasbeginbalrep
it was a complete garbage

If you are not referencing 3 separate text boxes in your solution like I am then you are not following my suggestion and you need to re-read it to try again.

Is this what your suggested;

first in the report header

Aliasbalrunrep= Aliasbeginbal

next in the report header
Sumoftransactions= Quantity * Price
running sum overall

In the detail section

Reportrunbaldetail=[aliasbalrunrep]+[sumoftransactions]
running sum overall

if this is correct
it does not give you the correct values
in the detail section

There should be a running sum in the detail like this, not the report header.

the solution was this

Textbox1 with beginbal in the header.

Textbox2 with quantity * Price in the detail section
running sum overall not visible

next to this box another textbox3
textbox3 with control source =textbox1 + textbox2
