Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone could help me with a problem we are
experiencing. We have a windows server running with two NICs on two seperate subnets going out on two different VLANs. Both NICs have different gateways for each subnet.

The firewall cannot route between the two firewalls and we are working to try and get the routing sorted.

I have a subnet on each NIC and intermittently we are having outages on each subnet. I have a continuos ping running against each subnet and there seems to be brief 5-10second outages on alternate ranges.

There doesnt seem to be any pattern between the issues.

We have websites running on each of the subnets and obviously the sites go down when there is an issue.

We have IP addresses from each subnet on seperate servers running only in one subnet and these run fine with no problems.

Anyone any ideas?

Are each of these interfaces on the server connected to different ports on the firewall?
ex)
Srv1NIC1--VLAN1---FW1eth1
Srv1NIC2--VLAN2---FW1eth2

Have you setup a route to the other interface?

They go through a trunk port to the firewall and they are on a sub interface. The firewall cannot route between the two subnets at the moment. We are hoping to get the firewall swapped to another model that can route them in the next month.

thanks

enable routing and ras on the interconnected server

"The firewall cannot route between the two firewalls"

I hope in the first reading of this you do not have 2 default gateways (one assigned to each NIC) If this is the case lose one of hte DG's and add static routes for using the second NIC if necessary.
