Running Totals Percentage

I am needing to chart the percentage of a running totals to total number of records by group so the percent will go up with each group until it reaches 100%. I created a custom formula that gives me the percent I need, but the Chart Expert does not allow me to use this field. Any ideas on how I can display this field or getting the percentage I need in a way that the CR Chart will like.
