running totals on new page are wrong

Sorry, I thought I was starting a new thread. Here it is:

In Crystal 9, I've inserted a running total that resets to zero on page 2. I want to have a final total on the report footer and don't actually care to see the actual increments although I can't seem to suppress or hide the incremental amount. Placing the running total in Report Footer results in a blank grand running total because it resets to zero after the first page.

So two problems: hiding the increment and making it run throughout the report.

I don't recall this being a problem in earlier versions of Crystal. What have I forgotten?

Just create another running total that doesn't reset.

The running total I have now has reset = Never but it is resetting to 0 on the second page. A page change should have no effect on a running total.

There are no repeating group headers.

Resetting isn't the same as hiding.

I'm not sure that I understand what the requirement is, stating technical information and examples are much clearer than descriptive text.

Expected Output

If you only want to display the Running Total at the end of the report, only place it into the Report Foooter, it will only display once after completion.

Crystal version 9
Database used Oracle
Example data

There is one Group: IDs

100001
100002
100003
100004

Expected Output is

Running Total Grand Total should be 4 in Report Footer but it is blank because the running total stops running after page 1. The running total is defined to reset never. It is in the report footer. It is blank. It should be 4.

Resolved the problem. My format was originally a label template that I modified for another purpose. It unfortunately retained some formatting that could not be changed. The detail section had 'Format with Multiple Columns' checked but greyed out. This was somehow interfering with the running total continuing beyond the first page.

The only solution I could see was to start with a blank format and re-create the thing. Lots of work but the running totals behave as expected now.
