Running totals in Excel Pivot tables

Does anyone know how to create a running total in the data area of a pivot table? The table is taken from data in another sheet in the same workbook & using the summary field option I can only get #N/A errors
 
Sort by date Sort by votes
Double click the drop down button for the data that you want to sum then pick from any one of the count, sum average etc....options in the list box
