I have a running total in my report, I would like to display only running totals that are 3. The running total is used to count records per each group of clients. I want my report to show only the third record of each report. I believe running totals are created / evaluated after records are read.

Your running total, let's call it {#cntwingrp}, should be set up to count a recurring record, evaluate for each record, reset on change of group. Then you would go to the section expert (format->section)->details->suppress->x+2 and enter:

{#cntwingrp} <> 3

That will leave a display of only the third record per group.

That works great, only problem is that large blank areas are left grouping sections. Any ideas on this?

I just figured out my problem. I had to hide group footer and header.

Thanks a million.
