Running Total In Header 1

I have a couple running totals fields that are working, fine, but I need to put the totals in the report header, instead of the footer. Of course, when I put the actual running total field in the header, I only get the first record. Any ideas?? I vaguely remember something about a manual running total.

Running Totals have to "run" through the data in order to create a total.

If it is a necessity, you could do this via a subreport.

Rather than using a subreport (which is slow), or a Running Total for the reasons you've stated, create a manual total using a formula and use the Insert-Summary to create the total. It can then be dragged to the report header.

Create a formula such as:

if {table.field} = "blah, blah, blah" then
1
else
0

Place it in the details and select insert->summary->Sum

Simpler and faster.

Quick question. Got the formula working fine, now but I can't put the running totals in a line chart because the field is not available. I'm assuming this is because of the print time of the running total fields. Any amplifying info???

I thought thta you'd gone with Reebo's solution (the post marked)?

Where is this graph in the report?

Perhasp you can show what you're using and what you need?

Sorry, wrong name

I have a formula that averages ( ({running.field1}/{running.field2})* 100)) my running totals in the group footer and I would like to chart these averages in a line chart in the report footer, but the formula isn't available in the chart expert.
