Thought there would surely be a prvious post on this but I couldn't find it. Just need to take a summary from the report footer and put it in the report header. I thought it was a "whileprinting" function. Any ideas?

Thanks!!!

YOu can not use variables or Running Totals in headers. because they are Whileprinting formula they have not evaluated at the point in time that the header is printed.

Do you really need a Running Total.

What are you trying to achieve, some times a sum summary of a formula can work. These can be placed in Headers.

eg yoo can sum this type of formula.

If.. whatever condition = true ... then {valuefield} else 0

Thanks for the reply, but I tried a summary field and I get a value of 1 because as you said it's printing. I just thought there was another formula I could use for the header.

What kind of summary did you use? You should be placing a field in the detail section, right clicking and inserting a sum or a count on it and then dragging the result to the report header or else creating a formula to place in the report header:

sum({table.amount})

Please supply more specifics about the field you are summarizing, type of summary, etc.

Thanks lbass, all I needed was a count({table.id}).

Thanks again!!!
