Hi all, Just starting out with crystal and would appreciate any help...

I have made a report that shows all collections made, i have split this down by client using groups, and have added a running total. All working fine. What i want to do now is split the report further into month account was created, which i thought would be simple enough, but it seems to mess up the running total.

Ideas?

Thanks in advance

Ian

Add a crosstab in the report footer?

You find Crosstab under Insert and it is worth taking time to find what it can do.

It always helps to give your Crystal version - 8, 8.5, 9, 10, 11 or whatever. Methods sometimes change between versions, and higher versions have extra options.

You can insert a group on the date field and choose "print on change of month". If you want a running total for the month, then you need to create a new one that has a reset based on the date group. Your other running total would have a reset based on the customer group. These have to be placed in the appropriate group footer.

The question is why you are using running totals? Try right clicking on your collections amount field->insert summary->insert a sum. You can copy the result into each group section and the report footer, and you will have the summaries you need--as long as you don't have row inflation or section suppression or group selection.
