Running total evaluation

OK, here's a good for everyone. I am not a Crystal Reports guru, so I need to know if something is possible. Is there a way to evaluate a running total on change of group using code in the formula rather than the "On change of group" radio button ? I have a situation where I need to evaluate a running total when the group changes and if the name of the group itself meets other qualifications. Anyone?

Choose the 'use a formula'option for the evaluation section, and then enter something like this:

(
onfirstrecord or
{table.groupfield} <> previous({table.groupfield})
) and
{table.groupfield} = <your criteria here>
