I had scheduled some programs to run at specific times, but it says that the scheduled job might not run, because Task Scheduler is not running as a service.

How to make task scheduler run as a service? I am using Windows NT 4.0 with SP6a.

I have IE6.0 in my machine.

Thanks,
Suren

Open Control Panel and locate "Services". Open this and scroll down the list of services you should find Task Scheduler. Check its status. Could be disable or set to manual. Click the startup button and set it to Automatic.
Allow service to interact with desktop should also be ticked. OK out of that then click START. Assuming there;s not some other problem it should start as a service.

Good Luck

Simon

This is thread is probably dead by now, but i had a similar problem.

I went through services, but had to stop and then start task scheduler to get it to work... Very strange..
