I have designed a report that shows invoicing and labour a profit type report however in the database I use you may have many invoices to one labour transaction so in the details section I have the labour repeating itself many times when I try and summarise the figure to GH2 it may add up the labour four times I can over come this problem by using a maxium or what I have done is asked to

Sum(Labour) \Count(number of invoices)

Which has given me the correct figures but I can't get the Figures for GH1 which is Customers and a grand total does anyone have any idea's ?

Hi,

Yes this is very easy to overcome using Running Totals. In version 7 and higher of CR there is a running total wizard that will allow you to evaluate your total at certain times like on change labor transaction which I think is your Group Number 2. You can also reset the total on Group one or two or never reset it for a grand total. You would create a running total for each group total you need. The crystal decisions web site has white papers on how to create them. Yours is a very common issue and CR can overcome it.

Hope this helps,
