We are running OutlookXP as a published app, along with other applications, on load balanced citrix servers (1.8 metaframe) in a Win2K Active Directory environment. We are running into into issues with profiles. If a user happens to connect to citrixA, profile is fine, email accounts are all there, settings are fine but if that person happens to connect to citrixB the next day, Outlook must be reconfigured - all accounts are gone and Outlook thinks it has never been opened. This seems to happen haphazardly on both servers. We have moved the page file on each server to another drive so we could increase the size. We have configured roaming profiles to not be deleted. Has anyone else run into this problem? It seems to only affect Outlook. Other apps and personal settings are saved whether the user connects to citrixA or citrixB. Just a note to say when we were running everyone on 1 citrix server, we did not have any problems. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Susan

If Outlook profile settings are saved into the roaming profile instead of the home directory or other user data folders then this can happen - although it wouldn't be as sporadic as you suggest. If it was, then I would look elsewhere on the network. Maybe there are RPC errors in the event logs on the MetaFrame servers?

I'm confused by your statement "We have configured roaming profiles to not be deleted" - This would indicate that they are never updated also?

Are your roaming profiles stored on a separate file server or on one of the MetaFrame servers?

Certainly this looks like an issue where roaming profiles are not updating correctly. Check user permissions.

Filemon may help troubleshoot this (out of hours - never run Filemon on a busy server!).

I hope this helps CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk
