My exchange server is running out of disk space. I've deleted old mailboxes, but the size does not change. I think I need to run a manul defrag. Has anyone done it lately who can tell me of anything I should be aware of? Can I run it eventhough I don't have much space left? Any other ideas?

Have you ever looked into a Mailbox Management Policy? It is a policy that you create to remove messages that are so old. We have been using this for about 6 months and it works great. If a user needs to save their emails, we have them archive them to a file server, so it gets backed up. With this process, the mail gets off of your server and the important mail gets backed up nightly.

Hope this helps.
