running ospf on extreme - stuck at 2-way-exstart

Hello,

I am new to Extreme network switches and am coming from Cisco background.

I am trying to run ospf to two extreme switches (summit). On one switch I have two areas (0 and 10) and on the other one just area 0.

I am trying to bring up the two neighbours on area 0. I can ping them both across the vlan in area 0 but the neighbour state does not pass 2-way-exstart. I believe they should get to fully-adjacent (after exchanging lsdb) and that is what I am not getting.

I have brought up the area 10 vlan and am hoping to get this route over to the next router via ospf.

What could I be doing wrong or missing?

Thanks and regards,

Abid Ghufran.

Just to add a few bits to my original query.

I am running OSPF between Summit 300 running ExtremeWare and Summit 450 running XOS.

When I change the vlan/interface-type to point-to-point they go Full and starts working. But when I change the type to broadcast it stops working and the neighbour state shows as 2-Way and just sits there.
