Can anyone help please.
We are moving from Oracle 8i to 9i on a unix server.
We have 4 databases running and have converted 1 to 9i to test everything out.
We tried having 2 listeners running (8i and 9I) at the same time but there appears to be conflict as the 8i listener for the Live system keeps stopping.
Is it possible to run oracle 8i and Oracle 9i using the 8i listener or should we reconfigure so that all are using the 9i listener.

The 9i listener should be backward-compatible, so I would guess that you could just use that for all.

You can have two listeners, but they must listen at different ports. That being said, the Oracle 9 listener will talk to an 8i database with no problem. Use it instead.
