One of my clients is moving to Windows 2003 64 bit server.

How can I establish whether my VB6 project and all it's components will work on 64 bit?

I have looked into this further and it appears my application, when running on a 64 bit Windows operating system, would run on a 32-bit layer of the Windows operating system known as Windows on Windows (WOW) and should work (except mention of some rare instances of a problem)

I guess it's a case of just testing the application out on such.

Any further comments would be appreciated if anyone has got anything to add.

Thanks

you are right, it should run fine. 64-bit machines can still run 32-bit apps. Much like how 32-bit machines can run 16-bit apps (in sort of a emulator built into windows automatically). But 64-bit machines no longer can run 16-bit apps! But luckily you don't have to worry about that. A test will give you a final result. Best of luck.

I have been running a VB6(SP6) server app with a MSAccess database on a 64 Windows XP on a Core Duo Processor with no errors 24/7 for over a year.
The dual cores of the machine seem to share the workload automatically.
