running multiples programs

I use to run more than one after, ate the same time.
One is rendering and another I use to make a new COMP or effect.
The tipe is something like: put a "/m" in the end of the shortcut!
But I've format my pc and lost this setting. Can anybody help me. I know it's not easy.
