Hi folks,
Is there any sort of authoritative list of issues that should be expected (if any) and/or workarounds to allow either a) multiple copies of GRINDQ.EXE to run simultaneously or to b) ensure that no process starts GRINDQ.EXE while an instance is already running? For example, is it OK for multiple copies to run if they are acting on different folders?
I ask because I have seen problems with multiple copies running at the same time (they tend to hang or get into a loop), and I'm trying to build some automation outside of AlohaQS that needs to grind previous business days from time to time. My process will do what it can to prevent starting grind if another instance is already running, but once I start it I can't seem to figure out a way to prevent other processes from starting it at the same time.
My current workaround is to simply pause my process around any times scheduled in the pollevent file, but that isn't deterministic.
I did recently find a /NOMUTEX command line argument, would that do any good?
Thanks in advance.
Bob
