Hey; I have some special programs that are *required* by my ISP...I can't access the sourcecode, but would _really_ like to be able to port them to my Linux box (currently running Caldera OpenLinux 2.2)
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
Try Wine or dosemu. These have run almost any Windows/DOS program I've needed under Linux. OK, it's not many, but they worked. Configuration can be a pain initially, but it soon starts to drop in to place.

There's also one in the works called Bochs, and an application called VMware, which is I gather sort of a OS-independent layer for which runs a VIRTUAL MACHINE that can emulate WIndows NT on a Linux machine or vice versa.

OK...and can Linux also emulat M$ dial-up Networking v1.3?

From what I've heard, VMware certainly could. However, as usual with emulators and so forth, you'd need a beefy machine to get that Windows OS up and running in a X window ;)
Why do you need DUN? If you just need a dial-up TCP/IP connection then PPP would do the job...

My ISPs s/w requires DUN 1.3 or later.....the ISP I'm wanting to switch to requires v1.4; so I'm stuck *looking* for it.....not _quite_ sure what they use it for; but they're free ISPs so their programs like to have run of your connection to flash banners at you & disconnect you when they're programmed to.....*and* (by some hilarious twist) DUN is the only software that I have found so far that can fool them if used properly ;)
