HI Every one,

I'm very new at this!

I have a Compaq Presario notebook and I want to buy an additional tower to run tasks in the site, macros, data entry, FTP ect...

Is is possible? Can I run the tower from my laptop? Sending it commands and running softwares on it's own using my laptop as monitor, mouse and keyboard?

If so, I am quite short on cash and am thinking of buying something second hand, the tower doesn't need sound card, video card or nothing. Just a data processing machine, software used will mostly be FTP and Wintask.

Would a 500 MGZ CPU and a 20 gig hard drive suffice for these tasks?

I'm in Thailand now so it hard to get help!

Cheers,
Bruno

It certainly possible, depending on what type of OS you are using to interface with the tower. You will certainly need a monitor and Video card to at least initially set-up the tower however... if there is another way to do it, I am not sure how.

It looks like, after a very breif search that if you have WinXP Pro on your laptop, it should be compatible with a Linux OS on the tower, as long as it has the RDP protocols installed. Though there may be third party programs that make such interfaces easier(I just did a real quick search, very little details).

good luck!
