Okay - We have our company's program in Paradox 4.5 DOS and our hard drive is toast. The Program was written for us back in 92 and we are STILL using it. We need to and would love to run the Pardox in XP or any version of Windows, but I have searched and seen that there is no way to convert the Paradox 4.5 DOS to Paradow for Windows... Is this correct??

What are my best options if any??

thanks with any help - and if you can answer my question I can hook you up with some free cds.. :)

thanks

Mark

The best source for everything pdoxDOS on Windows is the newsgroups on thedbcommunity.com. LOTS of discussion about running pdoxDOS under winXP.

The first gets you to the Web version,

The second gets you to the newsreader version:

news://pnews.thedbcommunity.com/pnews.paradox-dos

Steven Green also has a web site with very good information:

Yes, he sells older versions of Paradox and makes his living writing/supporting Paradox apps. But he also has a lot of helpfull info for running pdoxDOS that he contributes freely. And he is a major contributor on the above newsgroup.

Hi,
I've been running Paradox 4.5 for DOS on XP with no real issues. It works fine and is insanely fast as long as you have the right .pif file.

I don't see how to attach it to this post, so email me at pdox45 at the domain of gem3 com and I will reply with the .pif attached.

Drop it into your folder and drag out a shortcut.
Poof! Done.

(You will need to edit the properites of the .pif if your Paradox program folder name is not c:\Pdox45\.)

Thanks,
Dav
