Running DOS Apps after Pervasive 7 to Pervasive 2000 upgrade 1

After the upgrade the error is MicroKernal error 20. The btrieve requester or the MicroKernal is inactive. When I uninstall Pervasive 2000 everything works fine. The Pervasive client is not needed when running the apps from the server. As long as brequest is run then the app, all is good. Executing the same brequest.exe and app on the sever when Pervasive 2000 is installed on a client accessing the files the error 20 is recieved. What is causing this?

I've encountered this problem several times, which was due to an old version the BREQUEST.EXE lurking about, the upgrade program does not always seem to remove them, especially if you're using Novell. Do a complete check on both the server and workstation for the BREQUEST.EXE and check the dates to make sure that they are all the correct version.
