Running DB2 in SINGLE USER MODE

I must load large files into my DB2 database and every now and then the server crashes while loading. I don't know, if it is because of the queries and external accesses to the db while loading, but is it possible to run DB2 server in a SINGLE USER MODE. And how is that done?

server: DB2/Linux 9.1.1
