Hi,

I have developed programs using Crystal reports 7.0 on Windows NT to extract data from Eloquence (one of the NDBMS) which is running on LINUX server(4.2). The report runs well in interactive environment from my NT workstation.

Now I would like to deploy the same reports to be executed in batch mode from LINUX server using Linux shell script.

Can I use the same version of Crystal reports or do I need to upgrade Crystal Reports to 8.5?

How do I go ahead and deploy?

please help

You will need a Crystal Engine of some kind to run the reports, and I am not aware of any Crystal engine that will run in a Linux environment. So the report engine has to be in a WIntel environment. Do you have a virtual PC in Linux to run the engine?

Also, there is no command line option for reports in any environment, although there are scheduler apps that will run batches of reports. Of course you can always write an application in VB or one of the other supprted integration platforms. But, these apps would also have to be run from a Wintel environment.
