I want to integrate crystal reports into a web project. I want to be able to provide the user with a link, pass a few parameters, i.e. customer name \ account code, and then provide them with the report.

All the imformation I have found has been far to complex for what I want to do. In essence I'd like to be able to run a rpt file like a php script.

What I have done has partially allowed this but I am asked to provide further parameter with it, i.e. db user names and password. I am aware you can use the publishing wizard and add these properties in but this method is unsuitable for my needs. Any help appreciated.

Try posting technical information.

What Crystal products and versions are you using? Very basic question, and should accompany any technical post.

When you state "What I have done has partially allowed this...", state what you've done and how.

Keep in mind that the world generally requires security, so either user/pw is inherited from some system, or you prompt for it.

If you're using Crystal Enterprise, go into the CMC and set the Database tab info, and the Parameters tab info.

It will no longer prompt.

Using crystal enterprise 10.

This is for a pre-existing website of mine where security is sorted.

Didn't want to post pages of what I have done really, just suprised at the lack of quick start guides out there. Looks good if you're developing a full blown java or .NET app, but I'm not.

What I have basically done is added a report into a virtual web directory. I can run this through a browser but...

1. I have to log on to crystal enterprise.

2. Then I need to provide parameters for the report.

3. The report is show ok.

I want to be able to provide a link so the user can click on it and see the report. But without them having to do anything.

I could do exactly this nicely, securly and cheaper in PHP, but the powers-that-be....

Might be being blind, but I couldn't see a database tab anywhere in the "Crystal Management Console", it's been a long day!!

Thanks for your help.

I do that often here.

Here's an example URL using parameters if you have Windows NT Authentication set up:

Crystal1 is your server name, and the 10094 is the report object ID. We launch reports through CE from various disparate web sites this way.

I use CE 9, I can't recall what the CE 10 interface looks like for setting the database logon.
