Hi Everyone,
Just want to let you know that I am not an expert at this and I am a little hazy as to the differences between VB and VBScript. I'm not sure yet how classes and stuff work with VBScript, so sorry if I'm talking rubbish!

I have found a great vb class by John Korejwa that is able to encode images to jpeg, here is the link

br /

I am creating a website in which users will be able to create art, and then upload it to the server. I was wondering if (provided I can get in touch with the author) it is possible to embed this class in a web page, so that it can run and encode the image on the client side, as uploading the picture uncompressed would take far too long.
I have been told that it is possible to embed classes in vbscript, and run certain vbscript on the client side, but I have no idea of the limitations.

Please let me know if there's any way of doing this, or if I'm just being an idiot!

Thanks!
Tim

if the source code of the compressing VB class contains API calls, which i am sure it does then i dont think it is worth the hassle of converting it to vbscript.
why not take the VB code and create a dll, that way you can reference the dll from within vbscript and expose its methods etc??? that would be my advice.

regards,
richard
