One of my clients is asking questions on maximizer 9, apparently it runs pervasive sql. They currently run businessvision with pervasive sql as well...

They are being told they need a separate server to host the 2 databases but this doesn't sound right to me...?

Any ideas?

You can only have one PSQL installation on a server. You can have multiple databases pointing to different datasets on the server though.
You need to be aware of a couple of things:
1. Make sure you have enough PSQL licenses for both applications.
2. Make sure both applications can use the same version of PSQL (and use the latest that both support).
3. You'll probably want to tweak the settings but you'll need to talk to the application vendors to get the best settings.

Now, if the applications require different versions of the PSQL engine and can't use the same version, then two servers may be needed.
