RUNDLL32 Error on Internet Explorer 1

The Internet is still working ok on dial up connection but this error message appears every time. It reads
RUNDLL32 caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLLat 015f:bff9d709.

There is an error window present that can be moved oput of the way and normal operation can continue it reads:

This program has performed an illegal operation & will be shutdown.
If the problem persists contact the program vendor.

Any Ideas on how to stop this error would be greatly received.

This is in all likeliehood the result of adware or some malware.
