I am running AIX 4.33 with AIX Connections. This was loaded and configured well over a year ago. Last month I noticed multiple netbiosd processes were being spawned with the path /usr/bin/netbiosd. All had the same parent process.

I have the same configuration on 30 servers without a problem. And this server ran fine for 10 months.

Has anyone seen this? I don't even know were to begin with this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. All process are started by root. I am wondering if there is something bad on my network spawning these things.

I did not mean which user starts it,but which startup file - possibly some rc.* under /etc.

Therefore I have offered the above grep command.

Also, please post the output of "ps auxwww" taken while the spawning is on.

Thanks
