Runaway Netbiosd processes

We have been running happily with AIX 4.3.3 for years.
Recently we noticed multiple netbiosd process being spawned and running away.

Right now for example, I have 12 running. Nothing really has changed on this box. If I kill them, they just come back and slow my system down.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas what I could check?

Thanks for any help.
