Run with Event, Immediate Reschedule

I need to print a packing slip in a Windows based BOBJ CE 10. It should print immediately after the Order Entry application, built in Progress and running on UNIX, creates an order.

I can make minor modifications to the Progress application so my initial thought was to create, via ftp, a text file on the CE server and use an file event to trigger the report. This works great! Once :-(

How do I reschedule the event immediately? CE allows once, now, daily, weekly, calendar, etc but I need it to immediately reschedule after each instance is printed.

How can I do this? Is there a better way to accomplish the same thing?

Thanks!

You can trigger to run on an event, and poll for the event every minute.

Set your object to run daily, run x hours, x minutes with events.

Crystal's idea of a file event is creation of the file, not presence of the file. The event server has to poll for the file and not find it before it polls and finds to trigger the event. So once the event is triggered, the file has to be deleted (or renamed) and then recreated (or un-renamed).

At least you're in CE10 which - I believe - allows you to schedule a batch file that can also look for the event file and rename it. Then, perhaps a second batch file that names the original back. In CE9, I had to schedule my batch file with the windows task scheduler - and I only had to do this once a day.
