Hi,

I seem to keep getting the following error:

Run time error '5':
Invalid Procedure call or argument

This error appears when in Word and clicking on the Goldmine link and selecting 'Insert Goldmine Fields'. I have uninstalled the GM link and reinstalled it several times. I have renamed the normal.dot file, I have deleted the normal.dot file. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled Word. What generally happens after, uninstalling, reinstalling etc is that the problem tends to clear up, however once the PC is turned off and rebooted exactly the same error appears again. If you have any ideas please help. The best advice I have had so far is that the Normal.dot file is some how being corrupted, however with all the attempts as mentioned above (which should clear this problem up), this has not worked.

Do you have the Adobe link/buttons for the PDF Maker add-in installed? It can sometimes cause problems. You also might want to lower your macro security settings in Word if you haven't already... Other than that, I'd look for other add-ins that could be conflicting or something.

Finally, note that I have run across the odd install of Word that simply defied all troubleshooting. In most cases it ended up being some strangely installed version of Word that the IT department had some sort of Image of, etc.. When in doubt, use a bonafide Microsoft Office CD to install it.

Thanks, I'll try the things you have mentioned.
