If somebody can help with this issue, it will be greatly appreciated.

We are using a 3rd party applications for our business. The applications works fine when logged in as admin user. But when logged as a limited user, we get a RUN-TIME ERROR '75'. This error comes when we go to specify the receipt printer (epson tm-u200b : the printer is connected via null modem) or even a laser printer (brother 1440). The applications is developed using VB6. We can print to either printers thru any other application (word or excel) plus the print a test page prints fine. The application is loaded on a stand alone workstation.

peer to peer
Windows XP Pro with SP1
MSOffice 2000
MSDE 2000
3rd party application also uses crytal reports
512 RAM
40 GB HD

Epson TM-U200B connected via null modem
Brother 1440

2 users
admin - administrator user rights
user1 - limited user rights

Runtime error 75 is a path or file error. I would start to look for file that are in the admin user's storage areas that may be required.

It is also worth giving the limited user admin rights to test

Take Care

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

What do you mean by your comment: "...This error comes when we go to specify the receipt printer (epson tm-u200b".

Is the path name to the printer hard coded or do you enter the path manually or what?

Following on from Matt's comments, it sound like the path name is just incorrect. Then again I have been known to be wrong.

Enjoy, Greg.
