Run-time error '1004': Document not saved

I have a VBA project in Excel 2003 and it has been running without any issues for more than an year. But suddenly this gives me a "Run-time error '1004': Document not saved." for the command

 ThisWorkbook.Save

This VBA project is password protected. I am not able to save the workbook manually too. It simply says "Document not saved".

Please help me in this.
