Hello,
I am looking for a way to create a job which will execute a sql statement. I basically need it to work similarly to a command line statement, but in a job so that I can schedule it.

Hope that makes sense.
thanks for any help.

Sorry - I'm not really an IBM person. It is an i5 series OS with db2 databases, I believe.

You can issue SQL commands in a AIX shell script using the db2 command line. But you also need to set your runtime variables in the script. And then schedule the script to run. I haven't had to do this for 10 years. So I am sure things have changed.

Create a source member, type the sql statement in it and call it from a cl program using RUNSQLSTM.
