Run scripts on OS X login for ALL users

Hi
I need a way of running a script/app when a user logs in. I know I can do this on a per user basis using login items in the System preferences but I need to enable this for all users (of which there are many) in one place.
Any ideas?

You can do this by editting the /etc/ttys- file.
