Hi there,

We currently have a development database, and a live database in sql server 2000. Twice a week we do "Program Moves", where we move changes on the developement database across to the live database. We do the changes since we do not want to give the developers access to our live database.

My idea is to automate this whole process, i.e. the developers put all their fixes in a directory, when "Program move" time comes, a job runs all the fixes in that directory against the database.

I am sure we are not the only ones doing program moves like this, but it really sucks and to automate it would save us a lot of trouble.

Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions on how to accomplish this?

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Please describe what you mean by changes. Are these schema changes, record inserts into tables, Stored Procedure creation, Job Creations ...?

Thanks
